Linus Pauling (1901-1994) was an American chemist and peace activist. Remembered as one of the greatest scientists of all time, he is the only laureate that received two unshared Nobel prizes – the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1954 and the Nobel Peace Prize in 1962. In the late 1960s, Mr. Pauling pioneered micronutrient research and founded his own research institute in 1973. In the early 1990s, Linus Pauling published ground-breaking scientific papers with Dr. Matthias Rath that lay the scientific foundation for the continued micronutrient research taking place at the Dr. Rath Research Institute today.

Dr. Matthias Rath was a close collaborator and friend of the late Dr. Linus Pauling. Dr. Rath has published more papers together with the two-time Nobel Laureate than any other living scientist — including publications of breakthrough discoveries about the nature of cardiovascular disease as an early form of the sailors’ disease scurvy. This short piece of film, released in 1994, documents the two scientists’ work together.
